In the spirit of full disclosure, to those who may have questioned why the momentum of this organization has slowed down in the recent past, I want you to know that my desire as CEO, to keep the labor of love going is a given. It is my wish and prayer that Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc. will continue to flourish and serve those for whom it was set up; even as I navigate the unpredictable journey of serious health challenges that my husband, our Program Director, has been on since 2015.
Please regard this as an appeal to the good villagers - young and seasoned - to consider making time to pick up the mantle and join us to lighten the load in a way that would sustain the programs and activities that have been put in place over the past 5 years. It is my hope that the foundation which has been set, along with the resources and efforts that have been put into developing this 501c3 nonprofit organization, will not fall victim to an unfortunate circumstance which now needs the undivided attention of the Founder/CEO ("Volunteer-in-Chief") and the Program Director ("Supporter-in-Chief") of Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc.
Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc. was founded as a vehicle to provide parents, youth and community members of the Long Island area, an out-of-the box approach to address serious personal, social and community issues and to empower our youth and families to successfully navigate the challenges of life in the 21st Century. As a community and family focused entity, we rely on the benevolence of those in the position to make it possible for the implementation of a vast array of quality and meaningful programs from which our target audience will benefit. We have accomplished this, thus far, through the constant unwavering support of many, with Molloy College, Doherty Enterprises,Gino's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Art League of Long Island among the list of many donors and supporters.
We unfortunately were not able to meet our fundraising goals through our yearly fundraising gala since the last one in 2015 when our volunteers were honored. While I am happy to say that the organization has for the most part been sustained since then by the funds obtained from that event, we must now solicit donations for 2018 operating expenses and for the upcoming Creative Empowerment Arts Contest scholarship awards. Should you decide to come on board and help, I want you to know that along with the donation is the need for volunteers who can devote time and expertise to the continued growth of Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc.
